valde: "We can go deep in Cologne"

In just a few days, North takes off for Cologne, Germany, where North will compete against some of the World's best teams at ESL One Cologne 2018.

We have landed in a tough Group B with FaZe Clan, Renegades, mibr, fnatic, Team Liquid, B.O.O.T-d[s] and BIG.

The team aims to carry on the momentum from Dreamhack Open Tours, where North beat Gambit and HellRaisers before lifting the trophy and cashing $50,000 for first place. The win was a contributory factor in North jumping into the Top 8 on the HLTV CS:GO World Ranking.

However, in Cologne, we will have to prove themselves with opponents coming from the World elite.

“We know, that if we play our best - and if the whole team hits their a game - then we can go deep in the tournament. Of course, our aim is to win the big trophy, but at the same time, the opponents are extremely strong, so we need to be ready from the start”, says Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså.

He is happy that the team is back in Top 8, but he adds that the team “needs to work hard and dedicated as a group and individually” to remain in the good company.

“We’ve had a bootcamp in Telia Parken prior to ESL One Cologne, and we have played individually to prepare in the best possible way,” says valde.

The tournament kicks off on July 3rd, where we are poised to take on the WESG and IEM World Championship winners from fnatic in the first match.
